At Best Buy Medical, innovation isn’t just a buzzword; it’s our promise to Canadian healthcare professionals. We know that behind every wound care product is a patient counting on faster, safer healing. That’s why we’re excited to offer NanoSALV Catalytic, an advanced wound care treatment that actively supports and promotes healing, reduces inflammation, and offers broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection.

Why wound care matters: How NanoSALV Catalytic supports healing
Wounds come in many forms, and caring for them isn’t always straightforward. From minor injuries to wounds that linger for months, like diabetic foot ulcers or pressure sores, every wound needs the right care to avoid infection and promote healing.
Chronic wounds especially are tough; they can be painful, costly, and emotionally draining for patients and caregivers alike. As healthcare professionals, we understand how important it is to have reliable, effective tools to support healing without adding complexity.
NanoSALV Catalytic steps in here as a simple, yet powerful ally. It uses NanoTess’ proprietary catalytic treatment matrix (CTM) technology to actively promote the body’s natural wound healing.
The 3 i's: Skin that is Injured, Inflamed, and/or Infected
This innovative approach to wound and skin care employs ultra-small, efficiency-boosting catalysts to kickstart and support natural healing mechanisms, reduce inflammation, and offer antimicrobial action. NanoSALV Catalytic is indicated for skin that is:
Injured: superficial, partial, full thickness
Inflamed: irritation, redness, blistering
Infected: bacteria [including MRSA], virus, fungi, yeast, biofilm
NanoSALV Catalytic: advanced wound care treatment for chronic, acute, and minor wounds
NanoSALV Catalytic Advanced Wound Care Treatment Matrix indicated for chronic, acute, and minor wounds, such as:
· Diabetic foot ulcers
· Pressure injuries
· Leg ulcers (venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers)
· Traumatic wounds
· Surgical wounds
· Burns
· Graft sites
· Donor sites
· Vascular access or peripheral intravenous sites
· Superficial wounds
· Minor cuts
· Minor skin infections
· Abrasions
· Lacerations
· Skin tears
· Irritated areas
The NanoSALV Catalytic difference: promoting healing, reducing inflammation, and providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection
· Actively Supports and Promotes Wound Healing
NanoSALV Catalytic effectively promotes and facilitates re-epithelization by providing an optimal environment for natural healing processes to occur. NanoSALV Catalytic’s proprietary NanoKARE™ technology contains copper, a well-known facilitator of angiogenesis and re-epithelization.
· Reduces Wound Inflammation
NanoSALV Catalytic’s proprietary NanoKARE™ technology contains copper, a well-known topical anti-inflammatory.
· Provides Effective Infection Control Within the Matrix
In-vitro studies have shown that NanoSALV Catalytic’s proprietary NanoKARE™ technology provides a broad-spectrum antimicrobial effect, including eliminating yeasts, fungi, viruses, and bacteria, including antibiotic resistant strains. NanoKARE™ has also demonstrated effective management and prevention of biofilm formation.
· Provides Moisture Management
NanoSALV Catalytic creates a safe and effective biocompatible barrier that actively regulates the wound’s moisture by absorbing or releasing moisture as needed. NanoSALV Catalytic can be used effectively on both dry and wet wounds with a variety of standard dressing protocols such as bandages, gauze, wraps, and total contact casts.
Powered by catalysts: enhancing the body’s natural healing process
Catalysts make reactions happen better and faster. What does this have to do with skin and wound healing?
The process of wound healing is a carefully coordinated set of events that require a significant amount of energy and resources. This required energy input is known as "activation energy", similar to the spark needed to start a car. As we age or develop conditions such as diabetes, our body lacks the resources or the right conditions to create this "spark" and loses the ability to coordinate events needed to heal at the right time. The catalysts in NanoSALV Catalytic act as "traffic conductors" helping to coordinate healing mechanisms. In addition, catalysts lower the energy input needed for a reaction to occur, facilitating faster and easier reactions in the body.
Made with biocompatible ingredients for safe and effective wound management
The components used in NanoSALV Catalytic are either already present in your wound biology or can exist in the body without disrupting its natural environment. Unlike some products that introduce unfamiliar materials to the body, NanoSALV Catalytic complements and supports the body's inherent healing processes.
In summary, NanoSALV Catalytic is a novel approach to wound and skin care that employs ultra-small, efficiency-boosting catalysts to kickstart and support the body’s natural wound healing mechanisms, using materials that are compatible and already present within the body’s own biology.

Directions for use: integrating NanoSALV Catalytic into standard wound care protocols
Here is how to use NanoSALV:
CLEAN
Clean and dry affected skin or wound.
TREAT
Apply a paper-thin layer of NanoSALV Catalytic to the entire area of affected skin or wound, including peri-wound, tunneling, and/or undermining. NanoSALV Catalytic must be the first layer applied.
COVER
Cover with physical bandage/dressing OR for non-breached skin, wait 30 seconds for gel to dry, then gently apply an ointment, barrier cream, or lotion, as per standard of care.
REPEAT
Re-apply with each dressing change or as needed to maintain consistent and direct contact.

Frequently asked questions about NanoSALV Catalytic
1. How often should NanoSALV Catalytic be re-applied?
To maintain consistent contact with the wound or skin, reapply a paper-thin layer of NanoSALV Catalytic at each dressing change or when the product has been washed, rubbed, or sweated. Follow your standard dressing change frequency, based on the conditions of the wound.
2. How does NanoSALV Catalytic impact moisture management?
NanoSALV Catalytic actively regulates moisture in both dry and wet wounds by absorbing or releasing moisture as needed. When applied in a paper-thin layer, its cellulose matrix absorbs wound exudate and passes it through to the secondary dressing. Continue to manage wound moisture through secondary dressing selection as per your standard of care.
3. Can NanoSALV Catalytic be applied to wounds with necrotic tissue, slough, and/or eschar?
To maintain the key principle of direct contact with the wound bed, continue to follow standard of care practices for debridement and wound preparation as needed.
4. How quickly will a wound or skin concern respond to NanoSALV Catalytic?
Healing time depends on many factors, including the chronicity of the wound. Clinical experience with NanoSALV Catalytic has demonstrated wound closure in approximately half the time the wound has been present. Especially for chronic wounds, use NanoSALV Catalytic for at least 4 weeks before assessment of impact.
5. What are some challenging areas in which NanoSALV Catalytic may be less suitable?
While these are not contraindications, some cases with increased complexity that may require specialized, multidisciplinary treatment beyond NanoSALV Catalytic include: ischemic ulcers, suspected osteomyelitis, cellulitis, uncontrolled edema, and interdigital wounds.
